June 2008 Meeting

"Oklahoma is OK? No, we're GREAT!"
Our panel discussed how we still have a LOT to be happy about, with the housing market robust, and our Chamber of Commerce's great news. They shared about Oklahoma City being the #1 recession-proof city (thank you Forbes magazine). People everywhere are turning their vacations into stay-cations, and our guests conveyed how to make plans to do that!
It was a toast to our economy, with a glass that was more than half full, with emcee Chance Newman, Cox Media, as Oklahoma Media Network welcomed:
- Cynthia Reid, Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce
- Lindsay Vidrine, Director of Public Relations, Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation
- Jim Cowan, Executive Director, Bricktown Association
- Anthony McDermid, Principal, TAP Architecture, who presented the Core to Shore planning study, about the development from downtown to the Oklahoma River area.
We learned why our clients can still smile about doing business in Oklahoma - and there were several winners of great door prizes. Prizes included: TICKETS to the Oklahoma City Museum of Art, Arbuckle Wilderness, Sam Noble Museum of Natural History, family passes to the Harn Homestead, and even Gasoline Gift Cards from 7-Eleven.
Below are several of our door prize winners.
