Meet The Candidates Luncheon

Oklahoma Media Network hosted an old-fashioned "Meet The Candidates Barbeque" at Harn Homestead Museum on Oct. 17th. Invited to participate were Gubernatorial Candidates Brad Henry
and Ernest Istook; Lieutenant Governor Candidates Jari Askins and Todd Hiett, and 5th District Congressional Candidates Mary Fallin and David Hunter. Unable to participate due to scheduling conflicts were: Brad Henry, Jari Askins, Todd Hiett and Mary Fallin. Robert S. Kerr, Jr. was there to represent Jari Askins and Larry Ferguson attended to represent Todd Hiett.

The meeting was moderated by Michael Carnuccio, Director of Public Affairs for Saxum Strategic Communications and adjunct faculty member in the Department of Political Science at Oklahoma State University. The event was not a debate, but an open discussion of the media's role in the campaign process from the perspective of the candidates.
